Legend of this cemetery is that there was a ship that sunk on Lake Superior, which is very near to the site. It was carrying Jewish passengers. I have not been able to confirm this as yet. There are many mounds with rock piled on top of them.

Almost all of the markers have been vandalized . The rough path into the cemetery is directly across the street from Niemela’s Flower Farm.
