Wm and Mathew WAREHAM of Lake Linden and John WAREHAM of Quincy mine are also brothers of the deceased. CORNISH ALL The body of the late Wm CRUSE was buried at Lake View cemetery, Calumet. The funeral was held from the Tamarack Methodist church. His sons Postmaster and Mrs. Alfred CRUSE of Iron Mountain; Edwin CRUSE of Allegan attended the funeral. NEWS ITEM 1899 Oct 3 Tuesday-- Captain John THOMAS and son returned home to West Superior after attending the funeral of his father-in--law, Wm CRUSE. CORNISH DEATH 1899 Oct 3 Tuesday-Mrs. Kaisa RUATTINEN, aged 71years, died at her home at the Atlantic mine Monday morning. Burial will be the Atlantic Mine cemetery. DEATHS 1899 Oct 4 Wednesday---Edward ROGAN, one of the oldest residents of the Osceola mine location at age 68 years, died last night. He had been a miner for the Osceola mine. He leaves a wife, 4 daughters and one son. Two daughters in Duluth were notified. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Hancock. 1899 Oct 4 Wednesday--Matt MESSNER, an old resident of the Allouez mine location died at his home Monday morning. He was 60 years old and leaves a wife and family of grown up children. The funeral will be held from the German Lutheran church on Scott Street, Calumet. Burial will be at Lake View cemetery, Calumet. NEWS ITEM 1899 Oct 6 Friday-- County School Commissioner Wm BATH has been visiting the schools of Tamarack and Quincy area. CORNISH DEATH 1899 Oct 7 Saturday-Mrs. Johanna CAVANAUGH died at her Calumet home on Thursday night. When her daughter, Miss Nellie, woke up she was shocked to find her mother, who was sleeping with her, dead in the bed. She was a widow and leaves a family of sons and daughters to mourn her. She will be buried in the Hecla cemetery. MARRIAGE 1899 Oct 7 Saturday-- At the Salvation Army barracks, Calumet on Friday; Captain Joseph POLLARD of the Calumet and Hecla mine wed Miss Belle LEACH arrived Wednesday from her home in Canada. CORNISH DEATH 1899 Oct 7 Saturday- Thomas ENTEMAN, an old resident of Tamarack and formerly of Hancock, died Wednesday afternoon. He was 83 years old and lived in Tamarack the last 10 years. He is survived by a wife and two sons-- Thomas and Charles. He was buried at the Hancock cemetery. NEWS ITEMS 1899 Oct 10 Tuesday-Mrs. John ROWE arrived Saturday from Canada to join her husband. Thomas DENNIS of the Franklin mine to house his family. DEATH 1899 Oct 11 Wednesday -Mrs. E. W. JEWELL, wife of Rev E.W. JEWELL of Christ Church Episcopal of Laurium, died at her home in Laurium yesterday morning. Pneumonia was the cause of her death. Her husband is left with the care of 3 small children. She will be buried at Lake View cemetery, Calumet. DEATH 1899 Oct 13 Friday- Mine Captain Simon KINSMAN of the Champion Mine, Marquette County was instantly killed by falling 1000 feet to the bottom of the mine. He was known as one of the best mining Captains in the Lake Superior district. CORNISH NEWS ITEM 1899 Oct 13 Friday-- Thomas BENNETTS of the Quincy mine returned from CORNWALL, ENGLAND the early part of this week after an absence of 3 and one half years, which he spent in the South African mines. MARRIAGE 1899 Oct 13 Friday-- Gust SUPPL and Miss Julia SHEA, both of Quincy and were wed at Quincy mine location yesterday. DEATH 1899 Oct 13 Friday-- The body of Max STUKEL, who died in Denver last Friday, reached Calumet yesterday afternoon and was taken to his sisters home, Mrs. Mat PUHECK on 7th Street. The funeral will take place at the Calumet St Joseph Austrian Church. Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery, Calumet. DEATHS 1899 Oct 17 Tuesday-- John BONDS died at the home of his daughter at the Wolverine mine location yesterday morning. He was 80 years old and was survived by a number of grown up children. CORNISH ? 1899 Oct 17 Tuesday-- Joseph KEAST, a resident of the Kearsarge mine location, died yesterday morning. He was born in CORNWALL, ENGLAND and was 45 years old. MILLS wed Miss Euphemia MORRISON DEATH 1899 Oct 19 Thursday-- Christian KRAMER, aged 72 years, who had been a resident of the Lake Superior region for many years, died yesterday at his Lake Linden home. He came from Detroit to Hancock where he lived for 15 years. He then came to Lake Linden and lived here till his death. He leaves 7 children to mourn him--John; Frank; Matthew; Adolph; Elizabeth; Annie and Mary. Five of whom are married. One daughter will be coming from Minneapolis, Minnesota. His home had always been with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John KASPERS of Hurontown, until last August 8th, he married Miss Nellie FINNEGAN.The funeral will be from St Ignatius church, Houghton.
